Why You’ll Love this Recipe
- Easily made in just 5 minutes!
- This pumpkin pie smoothie recipe is packed with protein, fiber, nutrients and vitamins.
- Great way to use up any leftover pumpkin in your fridge.
- The creamiest texture with warm, cozy fall flavors!
Here’s What You’ll Need
- Pumpkin – I used canned pumpkin puree for this, just make sure you use 100% real pumpkin puree and not pumpkin pie filling as that is loaded with tons of sugar
- Banana – I like to use one frozen banana because it really gives this smoothie that creamy milkshake texture, just make sure the banana is nice and ripe for the most natural sweetness
- Apple – it’s apple season too so I added one medium apple cut into chunks right in this smoothie. Not only does it add a little more sweetness, but tastes amazing with all these fall flavors!
- Greek yogurt – I used plain Greek yogurt, but feel free to to use a flavored yogurt for even more flavor or dairy-free yogurt
- Almond milk – this thins out the consistency to make this smoothie deliciously drinkable. Any type of non-dairy milk or regular milk will work in this
- Maple syrup – naturally adds a little extra sweetness and tastes amazing with all these cozy fall flavors, but you could also use honey or other natural sweetener
- Vanilla extract – a delicious flavor boost
- Warm spices – a combination of pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon. If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, a little pinch of nutmeg, ginger and allspice will do the trick!
How to Make Pumpkin Spice Smoothie
I love morning smoothies and this one really couldn’t be any easier to make! Simply throw all the ingredients into a blender (I love THIS blender for making my smoothies) and blend until smooth and creamy! If your smoothie is too thick, you can easily add a little more milk, or even water, until you get the consistency you’re looking for. Garnish with fun toppings like whipped cream, homemade granola, cacao nibs, chopped nuts, chia seeds or even hemp seeds.
You could also add in some leafy green spinach to this for a boost of nutrition or even vanilla protein powder! I do want to note the spinach won’t affect the taste of the smoothie, but it will change the color. When I make this smoothie for Emma I always add spinach and she loves it!
Can I Make This Smoothie Ahead of Time?
Absolutely! You can easily make this healthy pumpkin pie smoothie the night before and enjoy it first thing when you wake up in the morning
